Johan Lange deserves big credit as Tottenham have already secured one of the best deals of the summer for just £21m
Although Tottenham Hotspur has been a slow mover in the transfer market thus far, the North London team has already acquired one inexpensive player.
It has been difficult for the Lilywhites to make firm transfer plans in advance of the upcoming campaign because of the uncertainty surrounding Angel Postecoglou’s future at the football team.
Although Spurs have been connected to a number of names, they are currently not really close to making any quick additions to Postecoglou’s team.
The North London club has already signed a player for just £21 million, which may turn out to be one of the best summer acquisitions despite any significant ties to new players.
Tottenham sign Kevin Danso for just £21m
Fabrizio Romano has announced that Tottenham Hotspur has already paid £21 million to acquire Kevin Danso after fulfilling their obligation to purchase him from SC Lens.
Wolverhampton Wanderers appeared to be in the process of signing the Austrian international in January, but Spurs snatched him away.
It currently appears to be a great deal. The Lilywhites agreed to an initial loan agreement with the requirement to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
Danso claimed that he joined Tottenham in order to win trophies, and he has done just that, helping them to snap their 17-year trophy drought.
The defender, who played against Manchester United, Frankfurt, and AZ Alkmaar, was a key member of their successful Europa League-winning campaign.

The 26-year-old was a perfect fit for Spurs’ defence, batting aside everything the Red Devils put at them in the closing minutes of the game.
For under £21 million, Johan Lange should be commended for acquiring a player of that calibre who will also greatly expand Postecoglou’s defensive options.

The “exceptional” Dane has led the Bees to a top-half finish in the Premier League with a different brand of successful yet pragmatic football at a team that is outperforming itself in the top division.
Although a lacklustre domestic campaign has now apparently seen Daniel Levy take a different route with Frank in his sights, Postecoglou famously declared earlier in the campaign that he “always wins trophies” in his second season, and he kept his word.
Tottenham’s continental success guarantees them a spot in the Champions League next season, but they will also prioritise a successful domestic campaign. Additionally, Postecoglou’s unforgivable performance this season means that their new manager will be aware of the board’s expectations going into the new campaign.
