Tottenham plan to sell 28-yr-old & sign Tyler Dibling for £10m extra

According to insiders who spoke to Football Insider, if Tottenham Hotspur sells one of their major stars, Tyler Dibling’s £55 million transfer cost may be enabled.

Senior journalist Pete O’Rourke discussed what he has learnt from his sources regarding Tottenham’s protracted pursuit of Dibling in an interview with the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Southampton rejected Spurs’ January £35 million approach for the 19-year-old, and Football Insider reported last month that Tottenham was informed they would need to spend up to £100 million for Dibling.

The asking price has already dropped to a more reasonable £55 million, but according to insiders who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham still believes Saints are worth too much and is optimistic that they can still make a deal for £40–45 million.

But according to Football Insider sources, Richarlison is one player who might be “moved on” this summer, making room for Dibling to arrive—just three years after the Brazilian’s £60 million deal.

next their triumph in the Europa League Final, Tottenham will once more contend on several fronts the next season, and according to Football Insider sources, Dibling is a player who “perfectly fits their strategy.”

On Friday, May 30, Football Insider reported that Southampton had requested £55 million for Dibling this summer, and that Tottenham has no intention of paying the price. The relegated Saints are unlikely to make any concessions.

Richarlison’s departure might be key, according to O’Rourke, who spoke on the new Inside Track. Spurs are still confident that they can haggle Southampton down to a more realistic asking price.

“Spurs bid £35million in January, which Southampton quickly rejected”, he told Football Insider.

“With Southampton suffering relegation, it’s going to be really hard for them to keep hold of the teenager.

“That valuation of £55million asking price might be too high… Spurs will be hoping they can negotiate with Southampton and get him for £40–£45million.

“[Dibling] fits Tottenham’s strategy perfectly, signing the best young talent and giving them first-team football to make an instant impact.

“With Son staying, Dibling linked, and Richarlison likely to be moved on… there’s got to be some restructuring at Tottenham this summer.

“The domestic campaign was awful… the squad depth and quality has to be addressed and must improve.

“You look at Chelsea – Enzo Maresca’s picked two teams, so Spurs must build for multi-front competition.”

Even though David Moyes has thrown doubt on the idea of Richarlison rejoining Everton this summer, Tottenham will undoubtedly get in the way of their number nine if a leave-taking opportunity arises.

As part of an overhaul of Ange Postecoglou’s team, Mathys Tel, Cristian Romero, and Richarlison will all be out for sale, former Spurs and England custodian Paul Robinson told Football Insider earlier this month.

Next season, Tottenham’s team will look completely different on and off the pitch because players like Ben Davies are also expected to go, and Postecoglou’s future is also uncertain despite his Europa League win.

Tottenham open talks to seal surprise deal to sign Nkunku

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham has reportedly had talks to come to an unexpected agreement to buy Christopher Nkunku, a forward for Chelsea.

Following an exciting stint at RB Leipzig, the Frenchman made the decision to relocate to Stamford Bridge. But after joining before the previous season, he had a severe knee injury that prevented him from playing for his new team effectively.

Under Enzo Maresca, the forward failed to play frequently but remained healthy for the duration of the just finished season. Despite playing 42 games across all competitions, he only started nine Premier League games and was not used as a substitute in the Conference League championship game.

The former PSG player only contributed five goals to the English top division, despite scoring 14 goals and dishing out five assists throughout all competitions.

According to reports, Nkunku wants to leave Chelsea in order to play more frequently because he is unhappy with his current circumstances. During the winter transfer window, the 27-year-old was strongly connected to a move away from Stamford Bridge, but the transaction fell through.

Nkunku is expected to go this summer, according to talkSPORT, and Tottenham is interested in signing him by taking advantage of his current circumstances.

Although Bayern Munich is also in the running and made an attempt to sign him during the winter transfer window, the player is even prepared to move to the Allianz Arena and may be open to joining Spurs as he is prepared to stay in the Premier League. They have already held discussions to discuss the specifics of signing him.

The Bavarian club does not want to pay so much money to recruit Nkunku, but the Blues have slapped a price tag of almost £50 million on his head. His current contract is slated to expire in 2029.

Because he can play both wide and in the No. 9 position, Nkunku is a versatile player. In addition, if necessary, he can cover in the attacking midfield position.

Nkunku is a very gifted player who, despite his struggles at Chelsea, might be a wise addition to Tottenham’s roster if they decide to buy him. Spurs must exercise extreme caution before making any possible move, though, given his history of physical issues in previous years.
