Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs fans ‘never ordering Domino’s again’ after firm’s new billboard parks outside London stadium ahead of Europa League final
Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have said that they will never place another Domino’s order in response to the team’s new billboard outside the stadium in London.
Spurs Army shared a photo of the brand-new billboard outside the stadium of Tottenham Hotspur. The new Domino’s billboard says, “Since Spurs last won a trophy, 1,569,227,300 pizzas have been delivered.”
In response to the ad, one Spurs supporter wrote: “I will never place another order with them.” Someone else said, “Boycott them.” Tonight, nobody is placing a Domino’s order. “Can someone throw a rock at it?” a third enthusiast offered.
A different user asked if the billboard was authentic. Domino’s official X account, which was originally Twitter, shared the picture as well, writing, “One day I’ll get bored of cooking Spurs – but not today.”
Both teams want to win trophies in the Europa League in order to move behind their terrible seasons. The Europa League final between the two Premier League teams takes place in Bilbao this evening (Wednesday, May 21).
Both teams’ dreams of participating in the competition have been dashed by their league placements in the midst of terrible league play. With just 10 wins this season, United is in 16th place going into the season’s final league match. Having lost 21 league games this season, the North Londoners have been even worse, currently lying a point and a position worse down.
The Spanish publication El Correo claims that residents of Bilbao are prepared for the British to “colonise” the Basque city, and up to 80,000 United and Spurs fans are anticipated there for Wednesday night’s final. Some of United’s fans seem sure that they will make more memorable memories on Wednesday after the team won the Europa League in 2017.
The players and backroom crew of Tottenham Hotspur departed for Bilbao on Monday, May 19, for their Europa League final journey. On Tuesday, the Manchester United players took a plane to Bilbao.
