“That Genuinely I Could Never Do”: Travis Hunter’s Offense & Defensivee Capabilities Puzzles Rams Teammate

Travis Hunter has high expectations for himself and wants to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars on both the offensive and defensive ends. Every NFL player finds it challenging to perform like Hunter does. Hunter understands that being a two-way player has its challenges, which are not straightforward.

Hunter was recently reminded of the potential problems he might have by defensive end Jared Verse of the Los Angeles Rams. Verse told Hunter that he would never be able to play both ways. According to Verse, playing both ways in the NFL is not the same as playing both ways in college. Despite his admiration for Travis Hunter, he stated that there are certain things that are not permitted in the NFL

“I’m not going to lie, playing both ways, that’s something that genuinely I could never do,” Verse said. “Seeing that, that’s probably impossible. The league is a lot different than college; in college, you can take a snap off here or there, but you can’t do that in the league,” Verse said.

“But, it’s Travis Hunter we’re talking about; he’s a dawg. The way his body moves, the way he acts, and the way he is fundamentally built are different than most people. If he can do it in college at the high level he was doing, and replicate it in the NFL, I see no reason not to,” Verse continued.

Travis Hunter To Play Defense Next Week For The Jacksonville Jaguars

Travis Hunter worked out as a receiver for two days during the Jaguars’ rookie minicamp. Hunter has been receiving defensive reps as the squad prepares for the regular season, according to coach Liam Coen.

“He’ll be able to get integrated next week on the defensive side of the ball. He’ll start to roll on defense,” Coen said.

Travis Hunter’s presence on the Jaguars is a blessing. Hunter will have an advantage over rivals if he can play both offensive and defensive roles. Hunter knows that when he steps onto the pitch, the team has high expectations for him.

“The organization expects a lot out of me. They expect me to come out here and play right away. I’m going to do whatever it takes for me to play right away,” Hunter said.

Travis Hunter is prepared to take on any task. He needs to see how things will pan out for him in the major leagues because it’s only the beginning. There is no denying that college football differs from the NFL.
