‘Outstanding’: Stuart Dallas says Leeds United star is the best in his position in the Championship

Stuart Dallas says ‘outstanding’ Leeds United star is the best in his position in the Championship

One Leeds United player has been praised by Stuart Dallas, who called him the best in his position in the Championship.

With a decisive 4-0 victory over Bristol City on Monday, Leeds United secured promotion to the Premier League and are still feeling great.

Ao Tanaka opened the scoring with a beautiful volley, and Billy Gnonto scored the second after grabbing Joel Piroe’s brilliant cross.

It appeared that Daniel Farke’s team would not score the goals their effort merited, but Larsi Ramazani delivered with a spectacular brace off the bench.

With 100 points, Leeds will be declared the winners if they defeat Plymouth on the last day next Saturday.

It’s exactly what a brilliant Leeds squad deserves, and Stuart Dallas thinks Jayden Bogle has played a key role in the title challenge.

Stuart Dallas names Jayden Bogle the Championship’s best right-back

Before Monday’s match, Dallas responded to a question about whether Bogle was the best right-back in the Championship by saying, “Yeah,” on Sky Sports commentary. Definitely for me.

“I think he’s been outstanding this season. It took him a bit of time at the start of the season, which is understandable, you’re coming to a new club and you’re having to adapt

“Then as the season went on, he’s just got better and better.

“He’s chipped in with goals and assists and he’s integral to how Daniel wants to play in the system. We know that he likes to get his full-backs really high, we see here he’s getting in and making things happen.”

Given that Bogle had to start at right-back in lieu of the renowned Luke Ayling, one of his old teammates, Dallas has been even more impressed.

And he went on: “He’s had hard shoes to follow in Luke Ayling, who was here at the club for such a long time.

“That was always going to be hard for him but he’s just got stronger and stronger. I’m delighted.

“There seems to be, we see the right-hand side there with him, Ao and Dan James and with Brenden Aaronson in there as well, they seem to have a really good relationship. I’m delighted for him.”

How Leeds United can win title over Burnley

When Leeds plays bottom-place Plymouth Argyle on the last day, they will have taken a step closer to winning the Championship title after their utterly dominating victory over Bristol.

However, they cannot afford to make a mistake after Burnley’s decisive victory against QPR 5-0 over the weekend put them on par with the Whites.

Both teams have 97 points, but Leeds will win the championship if both teams win because of their significantly better goal differential. Unless Burnley wins by a margin of more than 14. It’s unlikely.

Thus, Leeds just needs to replicate Burnley’s performance to win, but if Burnley defeats Millwall with more points, the trophy will go to Lancashire.

Leeds will have a promotional open-top bus procession throughout the city on Monday, regardless of what occurs on Saturday.
