‘We agreed’: Managing Director says the 49ers owe him money after Leeds United’s promotion

Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League means The 49ers will be forced to shell out a whole heap of cash in terms of clauses, bonuses and wage rises.

Phil Hay said in The Athletic that all of the playing staff members had their pay cut by 50–60% after Leeds United was demoted. Now that you’re promoted, those pay will probably increase once more.

In response to a question on a promotion incentive last summer, Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu stated that he preferred an equitable distribution among the entire team. James Debayo is expected to receive the same treatment as Joe Rodon.

Leeds will be responsible for paying any promotion conditions that were included in player acquisition agreements after Daniel Farke took charge. For £1 million, the managing director of Werder Bremen has emerged from hiding.

Ilia Gruev’s transfer fee to Leeds United is set to rise to £6m

Gruev, a left-footed midfielder, has been instrumental in the final stretch as a result of injuries to Pascal Struijk and Joe Rothwell, which forced Ethan Ampadu to drop into defence and Gruev to replace him alongside Ao Tanaka. Werder’s Clemens Fritz has now told BILD that he is happy that Gruev has secured promotion and confirmed that there is a promotion clause in his contract, which is £1 million, bringing the total fee to £6 million.

“It is correct that we agreed on bonus payments as part of the transfer,” Fritz confirmed this week. He added: “We’re delighted that Ilia has achieved promotion with Leeds United. He’s done a great job.”

The three other payments Leeds must make after promotion

Gruev is not the only player whose contract contains a promotion clause that will force Leeds to pay a fee to get The Whites back in the Premier League. Three more Leeds players are reportedly involved as well.

Yes, Leeds will have to pay for Ao Tanaka, Largie Ramazani, and Joel Piroe. The three are now owed money because they all joined from Swansea, Almeria, and Dusseldorf when Leeds was in the Championship.

According to reports, Swansea will demand £1.8 million from Leeds in exchange for Piroe. After he arrived, Phil Hay stated that Leeds and Swansea had settled on a £16 million deal, but that only the £10.5 million upfront payment would be transferred.

Leeds United urged to sign ‘top-class’ goalkeeper after Illan Meslier exit news – Exclusive

Leeds United will need a new custodian after securing their return to the Premier League with a 6-0 thumping of Stoke City. But, if it weren’t for Illan Meslier, that day might have come much sooner. The Frenchman has had a terrible season for Leeds, and after being benched for Karl Darlow, it appears clear that they will prioritise finding a new custodian in the summer, and one in particular has been hailed as a ‘unbelievable

Aaron Ramsdale mooted for Leeds transfer

The Whites will have to find a replacement for Meslier if a bid is made for the Frenchman, who is anticipated to depart Leeds.

Despite his relegation with Southampton, Paul Robinson strongly supports the idea of using Aaron Ramsdale, who has been mentioned as a candidate.

He stated in an interview with MOT Leeds News: “Aaron Ramsdale would be an incredible addition to Leeds.” He would make an excellent addition. I would adore seeing him at Leeds United.

Ramsdale has plenty of Premier League experience.

“I think his attitude, the way that he is as a person and a player, he would get the Leeds United fans, and they would get him straight away. They would welcome him with open arms. You can see his attitude, his application, and his passion for the game. He’s a top-class goalkeeper. Let’s not forget that a season and a half ago, he was Arsenal’s number one and England’s number one.

“You don’t become a bad goalkeeper overnight just because one manager makes a decision on you. I would love to see Leeds United even overpay for Aaron Ramsdale, you know, get ahead of others. Manchester United will be looking for a goalkeeper.

“I think he’d be the best signing that Leeds would make during the summer.”

Daniel Farke needs to be backed with Premier League experience

Leeds needs to make wise hiring decisions this summer, and Ramsdale’s signing would undoubtedly suit the bill.

Experience sometimes comes before all else in order to survive in the division, and he has accumulated an impressive amount of it with a variety of clubs over the course of his career.
