Birmingham City sign 21-goal superstar for free in dream XI next season – if rumours come true
What Chris Davies’ starting lineup would look like in the Championship next season, according to recent Birmingham City reports.
Now that Birmingham City has been proclaimed League One champions and is awaiting promotion to the Championship, attention may begin to turn to the summer transfer market.
After the Blues were demoted from the second division, they hired Chris Davies as their new manager in the summer of last year. City has improved greatly since his arrival, and they may anticipate an instant return to the Championship the following season.
Birmingham has already signed centre-back Phil Neumann to a pre-contract in order to get ahead of the game during the winter transfer window. On July 1st, he will formally leave Hannover 96 to join his new team.

Sunderland sensation Chris Rigg has been linked to City in the past, and as the transfer deadline draws near, rumours about him are still circulating across the divisions.
Rigg is expected to cost £20 million this summer, and Premier League teams are also interested in him. Competing with teams further up the English league will require a lot of work, but it is not impossible to hope for a big-name acquisition after winning.
Birmingham City bolster their attack
After Kwame Poku turned down a new contract offer from Peterborough United, the Blues may be ready to sign the winger this summer. Football Insider claims that the 23-year-old is scheduled to depart as a free agent after declining a club-record contract to remain with the Posh. Poku has so far this season amassed 12 goals and 11 assists, and Birmingham has “opened talks” to sign him.
With eight goals and seven assists this season, Keshi Anderson is a dependable and versatile player. On the opposite wing, the 30-year-old would help and mentor youthful Poku.
The Blues broke the League One record by adding bonuses and add-ons for Jay Stansfield after acquiring him from Fulham last summer for a “guaranteed £15 million,” according to Sam Dean of the Telegraph.
Stansfield’s first season has been fantastic, scoring 22 goals across all competitions. When they return, he will light up the Championship, proving that he is living up to his high price tag.
