It was the lone goal of the match, and Leeds managed to hold onto their lead despite a late attempt by Oxford to tie the score. This victory could turn out to be the biggest of the season.
With three games remaining, Leeds is now five points ahead of third place. This means that a maximum of four points are needed before Easter Monday, when Leeds will play Stoke and Sheffield United, crucially, will go to Burnley immediately after.

Huge win for Leeds United on the road to put Farke’s men on the brink
Leeds’ performance didn’t matter last night; just the three points did, but we deserved to win both with and without possession.
Oxford went direct all the time, so it was a hard-earned win at times. However, we were up to the challenge and should have had a second or third goal to show for our victory.
Elland Road will be booming as Easter Monday approaches, and hopefully the team will win another game.
