Jermaine Beckford fumes at Manor Solomon after Luton Town 1-1 Leeds United

Although he is currently one of the most annoying players at Leeds United, Manor Solomon was once the team’s favorite. In recent weeks, Leeds United supporters have been critical of Solomon, and with good reason—he hasn’t been playing at the same level as he did a few months ago.

Solomon had a fantastic opportunity to make amends for all of his past transgressions against Luton Town, but he missed it from point blank range after James had found him with a low-driven cross in the second half. Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford, who spoke on LUTV following the game, expressed his shock at Solomon’s failure, saying: “It’s so, so frustrating as well because you expect him to score.”

“The run on the top of the screen here, you can see Manor Solomon… watching it back now and I still don’t understand how he missed because, if the defender’s sliding in, you take your eye off the ball, ok fair enough you could miss that. But the way the ball comes across to him, it’s harder to miss than it is to score from that position.”

Solomon’s desire to join Leeds United permanently from Spurs in the summer is well known. Or at least they did at one point, and Leeds might have changed their mind about the Israeli football player as a result of this bad run of play.

Spurs are want £15 million for Solomon, who is also being pursued by teams like Southampton and Everton. However, the 49ers could be better off seeking for another winger to join Leeds United this summer and keeping their millions in their pockets.

Despite having several excellent attacking players that he could cut and replace, Solomon has simply proven to be too erratic, though Farke may share some of the responsibility for his agonizing unwillingness to rotate his wingers.

Leeds United will next travel to Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.
