CB Tony Brown II was re-signed by the Browns on Thursday.
Before the 2024 season, Brown signed his first contract with the Browns. Last season, he played in six games and recorded one forced fumble and five special teams tackles. After joining the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2018, Brown has played in 67 games and recorded 22 career special teams tackles, 58 defensive tackles, and one interception.

“The ultimate energy guy returns” was the Cleveland Browns’ statement upon announcing the acquisition of cornerback Tony Brown Thursday.
On March 12, Brown was granted unrestricted free agency; nonetheless, he has returned to Cleveland for a second season. Brown’s contract details were not made public.
The former Alabama defensive back first signed a free agent contract with the Browns in March 2024. During the first five weeks of the 2024 season, he worked out.
Despite this, Brown participated in three games as a practice squad member. On October 10, Cleveland added Brown to its 53-man active roster in order to keep him playing because practice-squad players are only allowed to make three rises in a season.
Brown played in three more games before he went on injured reserve on Oct. 29 because of a foot injury and missed the remainder of the season.
Brown was on the field for 136 special-teams plays in 2024. Brown made a fumble on the first kickoff against the New York Giants on September 22, his first play of the season for Cleveland.
Brown, a member of Alabama’s 2017 CFP national championship team, joined the NFL as an undrafted rookie in 2018. Additionally, he has represented the Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati the Indianapolis Colts and the Bengals, as well as having played for the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers. He has played in 67 NFL games for four different teams, recording 1,193 special teams plays and 494 defensive snaps.
