£21m Striker: Leeds United told they can land striker who idolises Thierry Henry for just £21m as swap deal ruled out

There is no doubting that Thierry Henry was one of the greatest Premier League players of all time, despite being a threat to play against in his heyday. Leeds United may soon be on the verge of acquiring a striker who admires the Frenchman.
Thierry Henry came off the bench to score against Leeds United in the FA Cup, giving the Gunners the victory, just days after making an incredible comeback to Arsenal on loan during the January transfer window of 2012.Even if Leeds supporters don’t want to, they will undoubtedly remember this goal, which was another typical Henry goal.Leeds United finished in 14th place of the final Championship table that season under Simon Grayson and Neil Warnock, but this time around the story is very different.Thirteen years later, the Whites are at the top of the second division. With a 2-2 draw at QPR heading into the March international break, Leeds United was tied for second place with Sheffield United and only two points ahead of Burnley in third. However, the prospect of automatic promotion is still very real and would lead to a busy summer transfer window.

Leeds United told how much they’ll need to pay for Roma’s Tammy Abraham

One striker on the horizon as well as a Elland Road move over the summer is Roma’s Tammy Abraham. Leeds United are said to be interested in the 26-year-old who has been backed to leave Roma, four years after joining for £34million from Chelsea.

He’s on loan at AC Milan this season. But according to reports, at the end of the season Milan will not want to sign Abraham. New reports emerging from Milan Press now claim that Roma will ask for between €20-25million (£16. 8-21million) this summer for the 27-year-old after rumors of a possible swap deal between Roma and Milan.

Also disclosed was that Roma and Milan were in talks about a swap deal between Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, who has come to Roma on loan from Milan, though the possibility was ruled out in Italian press this week.

Tammy Abraham names Thierry Henry as his footballing idol

After he signed a loan move to Milan last summer from Roma, Abraham was asked what footballers he considered his idols – and Henry came to mind the first time.
He explained: “My family were big Arsenal fans and I grew up watching a lot of Arsenal games and Thierry Henry was my idol. It was watching him that made me want to be a striker. I still try to copy some of his moves.”

For Leeds, £21million to sign a proven Premier League striker in Abraham this summer could be a bargain. But the fee will surely rise dramatically with more than just Leeds interested in Abraham, with likes of Aston Villa very much linked right now. Leeds United have several strikers on their radar though.
