talkSPORT host compares Leeds ace to Lamine Yamal amid transfer speculation

Crysencio Summerville compared to Lamine Yamal amid during Leeds United exit tal

Alan Pardew, Crysencio Summerville’s former manager at ADO Den Haag, likened the Leeds United forward to Spanish talent Lamine Yamal. Pardew stated on talkSPORT (18 June, 8:51 am) that the winger is prepared to make a name for himself in the Premier League and that, similar to Yamal, his style of play implies that he has “never feared anybody.” Pardew was reacting to a report from Alex Crook [talkSPORT] stating that Liverpool and Brighton are keen on signing the 22-year-old following Leeds’ inability to get promoted back to the Premier League. “We took him on loan at just 16 or 17 years old, and we worked really hard to try and get him to understand what men’s football really was at such a young age,” the man recalled from his time at ADO Den Haag.

But similar to Yamal at Barcelona, he was fearless and at ease in any situation, and he has carried that over to Leeds. “He’s a Premier League player for sure, but I can see why Brighton might be a better fit for him than Liverpool.”

Will Crysencio Summerville be a success in the Premier League?

It appears more and more likely that Summerville’s time in the white shirt is over, even though he didn’t exactly play well in Leeds’ Championship play-off final loss to Southampton. Top-tier teams are aware of the Dutchman’s abilities, though, having already won the league’s Player of the Year award by then, so it will be challenging for the Whites to hold onto their prize asset this summer [Fabrizio Romano].

Leeds United
It appears likely that Crysencio Summerville will join the Premier League this summer after leaving Leeds United. Premier League teams like Brighton and Liverpool will hope a bidding war for his services starts well below that amount, even though Crook reported that Leeds will demand a fee north of £30 million [LeedsLive]. Just before the 2022 World Cup break, Summerville scored four goals in a row in the Premier League the previous season, demonstrating to other teams how effective the 22-year-old can be in a front-foot side.
The pressure is on Leeds and Summerville to ensure that, should he make a move, it’s the best one for all parties [Fabrizio Romano]. Adding him to the attacking arsenals of Brighton or Liverpool would improve both teams’ chances of having successful seasons the following year. In other Leeds United news, given the recent Everton events, Jack Harrison’s permanent move might be imminent.
