Danny Murphy shares ‘catastrophic’ Leeds United verdict as Daniel Farke decision made
Danny Murphy expressed his opinions about Daniel Farke staying in charge of Leeds United following a “catastrophic” start at Elland Road.
Despite the fact that Leeds was heartbroken at Wembley Stadium during the play-off final and did not win promotion to the Premier League, Leeds manager Paraag Marathe has thrown his support behind Farke.

As Leeds look to secure promotion for a second season, Farke appears to be staying in charge at Elland Road while the Whites are set for another season in the Championship.Murphy stated during a live broadcast on talkSPORT on Wednesday, May 29, at 12:25 p.m.: “They had a lot of ins and outs at the start of the season.” As far as Leeds supporters were concerned, the start was disastrous and he [Farke] arrived late.
“He made a swift turnaround, and he’s getting paid for it. However, they would have been eliminated by now if it weren’t for the final stretch of the season, in which they were unable to win. There has to be a major letdown.
“You need to decide who would be the best person to work with that group when they arrive? Thus, it’s good to hear that he has support. However, he will need to engage in some wheeling and dealing.
Daniel Farke set to remain as Leeds United manager
As someone who has guided Norwich City to promotion twice, Farke has an unparalleled depth of experience among Championship managers.
Though they will be disappointed not to have made the Whites’ promotion, they will still be expected to do so next season given the persistent financial uncertainty.
Multiple key players for Leeds could end up leaving the team. Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter, Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, and others have all been linked to moves away because the team reportedly needs to raise upwards of £100 million in player sales.

In the interim, he will guide the Whites into the 2024–2025 season and, ideally, end the following season with a promotion rather than a devastating loss.
