Leeds hold talks over signing Borussia Dortmund player – report

Leeds United hold talks over signing Borussia Dortmund defender Marius Wolf

Marius Wolf, a full-back for Borussia Dortmund who is scheduled to become a free agency this summer, has drawn interest from Leeds United, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The 28-year-old is regarded by the Whites as a “serious” transfer option if they can achieve promotion back to the Premier League this season, according to a Sky Sports journalist who reported this via X on May 20.

The defender is closing the chapter on his Dortmund career after making 121 appearances since joining in 2018, and it is understood that Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Italy are also interested.

“Leeds United are interested in Wolf and could be a serious option if Leeds are promoted to the Premier League,” Plettenberg wrote. “Leeds have enquired about the 28-year-old right-back, who leaves Dortmund as a free agent.”

Leeds United target Marius Wolf as Premier League beckons

When Leeds gets ready to play Southampton in the Championship play-off final on Sunday, May 26, they will undoubtedly be aiming for Premier League promotion this year.

Naturally, preparations should have been prepared in case the team defeats the Saints at Wembley, as there is just one game standing between them and a direct promotion back to the English football premier league.

Archie Grey will play full-back for most of the season, while Junior Firpo will have minimal competition at left-back. Daniel Farke’s full-backs are undoubtedly an area for improvement this summer.

With eleven goals for Dortmund, Wolf’s style of play is likely to mesh well with Farke’s, and he will inspire players around him to perform at their highest level, which is essential if Leeds are to stay in the Premier League. Wolf also has five international caps for Germany, which suggests that he would bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to the team—something that will be needed as Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas, and Liam Cooper all appear likely to be leaving Elland Road.
