This summer, Borussia Monchengladbach hopes to sign Max Wöber permanently from Leeds United, but the asking price of £14.6 million stands in the way.

The last games of the domestic seasons in Europe’s top flight divisions are drawing to an end as June approaches.

Three Leeds loanees have been trying to make an impression in the Bundesliga; however, the results have been uneven. Max Wöber is seeking for a permanent transfer, Robin Koch has already secured one, and Brenden Aaronson may be demoted very soon.

Borussia Monchengladbach in Max Wöber talks over £14.6m deal

Max Wöber’s home club this season has been Borussia Monchengladbach, and he has performed well enough to merit ongoing negotiations between his present team and his parent club.

The Austrian international is reportedly wanted by Gladbach for €9 million (£7.7 million), but Leeds is holding out for almost twice that amount, at €17 million (£14.6 million), according to a report published this week by Bild.

Gladbach is currently annoyed with Leeds’ hardball negotiating tactics, as they hope to make a tidy profit on the January 2023 signing price for the defender.

The players’ power was too much for the club to handle once they were demoted, and they were obliged to let many go without getting paid for them.

Daniel Farke expressed his displeasure at having to address the issue, but he also stated that the 49ers planned to make sure it wouldn’t occur during any future transfer window.

The first example of that is Leeds’ strategy with Wöber, which aims to turn a profit rather than looking to explore any transactions at a discount.

Leeds currently feels like they are in control of negotiations, and any teams attempting to exploit them once more may find themselves facing a considerably more forceful 49ers response.
