Leandro Trossard, who chose to celebrate his goal for Arsenal against previous side Brighton, has given a direct message.

The Belgian striker Trossard played through a difficult match against his former employers back in May after leaving the Amex Stadium for North London in January 2023. This time, however, he finished off a convincing victory for the Gunners on the south coast.

Upon joining the game as Gabriel Jesus’ replacement in the 64th minute, the 29-year-old was met with jeers. There was no danger as Trossard ran through to score Arsenal’s third late on, unlike other players who prefer not to celebrate in honour of their previous employers.

With the straightforward remark, “Are you not entertained?” Trossard posted a picture of his festivities on Instagram. Some Seagulls supporters were not amused by this and expressed their opinions quite swiftly.

One admirer commented, “Sorry about the boos Leo, but this one hurts.” “We still love him, we just hate the way he left, forced his way out, not all of us,” stated a different letter.

Other social media users’ reactions were conflicting. “Why is Trossard celebrating in opposition to his former team? One judge declared, “No respect,” but another countered, saying, “If they don’t respect him, why should he respect them?”

When Trossard entered the game, Arsenal was ahead by two goals after Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scored goals from penalties in the first and second halves, respectively.
