Injury Expert: Everton ace may miss Bournemouth clash after failed fitness test in March

Everton injury news: Doctor issues Idrissa Gueye up

Dr Rajpal Brar suggests that Idrissa Gueye, an Everton midfielder, could not be fit for the Bournemouth match on March 30.

Prior to the match against Manchester United on March 9, the injury specialist alleges he failed a fitness test.

He is still doubtful as he struggles with a calf issue that has kept him sidelined since the end of February.

Bradley, a sports scientist and physical therapy expert, said the following about Gueye in an exclusive interview with Goodison News:

“He did not play against Manchester United after failing a fitness test earlier in March.

When a late fitness test is failed, it usually indicates that the calf did not respond to training in a way that the physiotherapists felt comfortable with.

That might include discomfort, pain, soreness, changes in movement, etc.

“Unless the club provides an update indicating he’s trained without any issues, he might still not be ready for the weekend.”

Gueye’s injury a big blow for Everton

Every day, Sean Dyche makes a call to the security guard to inquire after Harry, an Everton loanee.

Goalkeeper Harry Tyrer, who is now on loan at Chesterfield, informed the Liverpool Echo that Sean Dyche, the manager of the Everton team, frequently phones a security guard known as “Tank” to inquire about Tyrer’s progress.

The 22-year-old Tyrer, an Everton supporter since his youth, was just promoted from the National League by his temporary employers, who lead the table by 21 points.

Tyrer has played in every Chesterfield National League game this season, missing just two. No player has accrued more minutes than Tyrer, who is tied with Jamie Grimes, the club’s central defender, with 3,510.

When he plays for the fifth-tier team, their record is 28 wins, 5 draws, and 6 losses, for an incredible win percentage of 71.8%.

However, Tyrer might need to make sure his next loan is at a far higher level if he wants to realise his aim of becoming an Everton first team player and following in the footsteps of current custodian Jordan Pickford.

While Pickford is still young for a custodian at 22, he had recently made his way into Sunderland’s starting lineup and was their first choice in the net for the 2016–17 Premier League season.

Wherever Tyrer plays in 2024–2025, he needs to build on the momentum he has created at Chesterfield and put on similarly strong performances. If he does that, maybe Everton will give Tyrer another opportunity.
