‘I’m terrified’: Gary Lineker reacts after Leeds United win again yesterday

After Leeds United easily defeated Millwall on Sunday afternoon to surpass Leicester City in first position, the Whites climbed up to the top of the Championship table. Gary Lineker replied to our victory.

As a former player who came through Leicester’s youth, Lineker is a huge admirer of the Foxes and is eager to see his team promoted right away. They have been in the lead for a while.

In fact, at one point they led by 17 points. However, the Foxes are having trouble winning now that they have peaked. Leicester played Chelsea in the FA Cup this past weekend, but they were defeated 4-2.

Leeds had an opportunity to capitalize on it; a two-goal victory would have been sufficient to go up to the top, and Daniel Farke’s team accomplished just that. Win 2-0 thanks to goals from Dan James and Willy Gnonto.

Leicester, of course, has the advantage in this match; Leeds and Leicester are currently tied at 82. Ipswich is on 81, and Southampton appears to be a little out of the running. On The Rest Is Football, Lineker responded to our victory.

“Tense. Rejecting promotion in favor of an FA Cup victory was my answer. An advantage over regaining promotion to the Premier League, as we would win a lot more games the next season. I’m afraid now that we won’t get any.

A 12th league victory in 13 games and another strong victory.Georginio Rutter discussed promotion after the game, saying that Leeds’ strength will serve as a reminder to those in the Championship heading into the break.

Leeds may even need to maintain this winning streak with eight games remaining if we want to have a chance of taking first position. It doesn’t really matter. We require automatic promotion.

But for now, take a nap. Justly deserved. Next Friday’s matchup between the Whites and Watford is the next one, although a number of players will be playing for their respective nations, including the Wales quartet against Glen Kamara.
