The summer is Poveda’s contract expiration at Elland Road, and Daniel Farke has already stated Leeds is “reluctant” to extend it, therefore Poveda’s time with the team is essentially done.
The 24-year-old will be back in the mix for the Owls this weekend when they play Ipswich Town, despite not being able to play against his parent club during Leeds’ 2-0 victory at Hillsborough last Friday.
Poveda, who moved to Wednesday, has emerged as a vital member of the team. His absence against Leeds cost them dearly as they were lacking that little more offensive spark.
But when Leeds travels to Ipswich on Saturday, a team that is now one spot and one point behind the Whites, Poveda will have the opportunity to give Leeds one final favour.

Wednesday had won four straight Championship games coming into the loss to Leeds, and they are now more than capable of avoiding relegation.
Wednesday more than demonstrated that they can compete with Ipswich at Portman Road, especially in the first half, and Poveda’s return will only make that more evident.

While playing for Leeds under Farke, Poveda was largely a bit-part player, although he occasionally demonstrated his skill, even if his output in terms of goals and assists wasn’t quite up to pace.
That being said, Leeds believes that Saturday would be the best day for him to score his first goal of the year. Regular game time has obviously had a significant positive impact on his form.
Any kind of dropped points for Ipswich would be a great motivation to go and take three points, potentially moving top of the league, as Leeds are not playing until 24 hours later against Millwall.
