Clinton Morris believes that Leeds United and Leicester City will automatically advance from the Championship top four, calling it “absolutely ridiculous.”

During the Sky Sports pundit’s live commentary during the Whites’ 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on 8 March, he expressed his admiration for the high bar that the top teams in the division are setting.

With Morrison being astounded by the competition for the top two spots and a direct path into the Premier League, host David Prutton referred to the results amassed by the Whites, Foxes, Ipswich, and Southampton as “stunning.”

The highest number of points amassed by the top four in a Championship season at this point in the last 20 years, according to Prutton, who spoke at 7:46 p.m. Really, Clinton, isn’t that a startling statistic?

Morrison shot back, saying, “The top four is stupid, utterly ridiculous. That has been outstanding. “Who will be the top two?” is a question you are welcome to ask. Everything is constantly changing. I have predicted that Leicester and Leeds will win the season.

“Ipswich won’t go away. Southampton are still in the mix. Them four have been outstanding, the four best teams, but I’m still going to go Leeds and Leicester to get promoted.”

Daniel Farke could have already secured his immediate return to the Premier League if not for the incredible numbers he’s achieved this season.

With only the draw against Huddersfield preventing them from having a perfect league record in 2024, the Whites have been unstoppable since the start of the season.

The victory at Hillsborough on Friday night was followed by a stunning loss for Ipswich the next day, and Leicester drew with Hull City for their fourth straight game without a win. However, there are other indications that the pressure is beginning to show.

Leeds United now sits in second place, one point behind leaders Chelsea, and looking to finally overcome their slow start to the season and take the lead in the standings.
