‘He has to learn’ – Daniel Farke says one Leeds player has missed ‘too many training sessions’ in recent weeks

Crysencio Summerville has missed too many Leeds training sessions

There could be a lot of key players absent for Leeds United when they meet Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the FA Cup fifth round.

Prior to the game, Daniel Farke said that Crynsecio Summerville is one of the guys that might be a major doubt.

Due to his sore ankle, the 22-year-old winger has missed “too many training sessions” lately.

For the Whites, Summerville has been nothing short of spectacular this season. So far in the Championship, he has managed 15 goals and 8 assists, making him one of Farke’s best players.

Every week of play is, in Farke’s words, a “new experience” for Summerville, and a long season will undoubtedly lead to injury problems, to which “he has to learn to adapt.”

Leeds’ previous two games have ended without a goal from Summerville, and Farke has admitted that the Dutch winger’s poor training has interfered with his rhythm.

What Farke stated concerning Summerville

“It’s never easy because for a young player who wasn’t used to playing week in and week out, 46 games and two cup competitions are a new experience for him and his body,” Farke remarked, as cited by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“He’s a very good player with a lot of finished goods, so we have to be careful.” In one-on-one matches, he should not change his style even when he takes a lot of blows and knocks from opponents who try to play aggressively against him. He needs to get used to the fact that he will occasionally receive small blows and get hurt.

Regarding this, there are no grievances. He has had some difficulty lately; he has been a little bit stop-and-go. He hasn’t participated in many training sessions lately, which isn’t good for his rhythm.

Leeds United could be without a few key players

Farke would have wanted a week off in order to keep his players rested and in peak condition following an intensely emotional thriller against Leicester City.

But Leeds may prioritise the league over the cup given how quickly games are approaching. This suggests that in order to keep some of his players fresh, Farke might rotate the roster.

Leeds has other goals, even though it would be fantastic to play Chelsea, who was just defeated by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Leeds may think they can overtake Leicester at the top while Southampton and Ipswich Town are chasing one other closely. It’s unfortunate, Chris Sutton thinks, and the Whites will not win.

Additionally, Farke said that players who are doubtful for this game are Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter, and Dan James.
