‘He’s a master’ – Pep Guardiola thinks reported Spurs target is ‘one of the best’ he has ever seen

‘He’s a master’ – Pep Guardiola thinks reported Spurs target is ‘one of the best’ he has ever seen

Ivan Toney has been praised by Pep Guardiola, who has acknowledged that he has not seen many strikers in the world who are as skilled at utilising their bodies to cover the ball as the suspected Tottenham target.

Toney has demonstrated his skill to everyone since serving his second suspension of the previous month; in six games, the centre striker has scored four goals (Transfermarkt).

The story was first published by Football Insider earlier this month. It claims that Tottenham is trying to sign a superstar number nine to replace Harry Kane in the summer, and the star of the Bees is supposedly one among the players they are considering.

The 27-year-old, who is believed to be worth between £50 million and £60 million, was mentioned by HITC a few weeks ago, and Spurs was one of the teams planning a summer move for him.

The England international’s contract at the Gtech Community Stadium expires in2025, and it is highly unlikely that he will extend it. According to the source, the Lilywhites are now competing with Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Chelsea for his services.

Manchester City v Brentford FC - Premier League

Ivan Toney receives big praise from Pep Guardiola

After labelling Toney as a threat prior to his team’s match against Brentford earlier this week, which the Premier League winners won 1-0, Pep Guardiola has now acknowledged that he is a huge fan of the player. Two hrs ago

In his pregame press conference, the City manager stated of the striker (via One Football): “He is so dangerous.” He’s one of the best I’ve ever seen when it comes to using his body to finish well and link with the ball.

“We didn’t defend that goal we gave up to him properly a few weeks ago, but he did a great job.”

Since Toney is one of the few players in the Premier League who can guarantee 20 goals, there aren’t many elite number nines in the league right now. The Brentford star is one of those few.

There will be a fierce competition to recruit him, and my guess is that he will sign with Arsenal because Mikel Arteta’s team is in dire need of a quality centre forward.
