Ipswich’s Conor Chaplin shares who he thinks are the better team this season… Leeds or Leicester
Given that both teams are now ranked in the top two, their matchup at Elland Road tomorrow is likely to be the biggest of the Championship season thus far.
Leicester has been setting the pace in the division thus far and has dominated the standings for the majority of the season after racking up an astounding 78 points from their 33 games played so far.
But Leeds are unquestionably the best team in the league right now. Since the start of the season, they have won eight straight games, cutting the deficit with the Foxes from 17 to nine points.
Before tomorrow’s match, Chaplin discussed his thoughts on talkSPORT and stated that, even if Leeds defeated Ipswich in the league, Leicester is the superior team.
Chaplin says Leicester better than Leeds
“It probably sounds a bit stupid because we drew twice with Leicester and got hammered at Leeds at Elland Road, but I think Leicester in terms of the way they make you feel on the pitch,” he stated.
Even if we have lost twice to Leeds and found it difficult to stop them in the second game, possession can still make you feel inferior when you are not in possession of the ball.
“They both have excellent teams and players, but Leicester’s style of play makes you feel so inferior.”
This season, Ipswich has only suffered four losses, but those have been in the hands of Leeds, where they have given up eight goals.

Although Chaplin’s analysis of Leicester’s superiority is reasonable, Leeds was by far the more dominant team at Elland Road, winning 4-0 just before Christmas.
They have been more reliable this season, and because of their possession-based approach, teams often find themselves chasing the ball for much of the game while playing the Foxes, which can be taxing on players.
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna claims that Leeds is the greatest team in the league at counterattacking, although Leeds is significantly more dangerous while doing so.Different approaches, but tomorrow night should provide for another intriguing game.
