West Ham considering hiring 48-year-old manager as club draw up three-man shortlist to replace Moyes – report

West Ham draw up shortlist to replace David Moyes

West Ham manager David Moyes is under serious pressure to continue his job beyond the end of the season.

After a strong start, Moyes, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, had discussions about signing a new contract. After a disappointing run of play, the team is willing to commit to offering the 60-year-old a new contract. With some fans demanding that Moyes be fired, the situation has been nasty. West Ham’s supporters are fed up with the Scotsman’s football philosophy as the team enters its final eight games without a victory in all competitions.

Though it is likely that the Hammers board will wait until the conclusion of the season to make a decision, they may act if the team’s performance starts to decline.

West Ham draw shortlist to replace David Moyes

A Daily Mail report (20 February, print edition, page 65) claims that the Hammers are putting together a list of potential replacements for Moyes.

The process of screening potential successors to the former Manchester United manager has already begun for the Hammers. According to the article, they are considering those who are open to the possibility of working with them.

The fact that the club has begun considering alternative options implies that Moyes’s job is seriously in jeopardy, even though they are not currently under any pressure to fire Moyes right away.

The Hammers are still very interested in Thomas Tuchel, the under-fire manager of Bayern Munich, but they also like three other candidates: Graham Potter, Steve Cooper, and Julen Lopetegui.

Potter is a subject of fascinating fascination. Although the 48-year-old performed admirably at Brighton, he was out of his element at Chelsea. Potter can play a very appealing style of football. He will be desperate to come back to work as soon as possible and would most likely accept an offer from West Ham should they make one.
