The former England custodian thinks the loanee is settled at Elland Road, but he also acknowledges that the club’s financial status will change significantly based on whether or not they are promoted back to the top tier.

“You have to cut your cloth accordingly financially, so if you go and spend £15m on a centre-half to get the deal done now for the summer and you end up as a Championship club you’ve kind of blown your budget already on one player at £15m.“

The chances of Rodon being a long-term player appear good, and if all goes according to plan, the Whites will return to the top division.
It would be expected that he would continue in some form if Daniel Farke’s team were to lose, although it is questionable if Leeds United could afford his high price.
The £20 million permanent loan to Bournemouth for Luis Sinisterra has already been approved, and more loan recipients are anticipated to leave for financial gain in the summer.
It remains to be seen who of Farke’s existing stars might also depart if promotion isn’t obtained, but a lot of money could be flowing in.
But unless Spurs were willing to negotiate based on both scenarios, it would still be risky to commit to a Rodon deal before the season’s conclusion is known.
