‘Heartbreaking news’ – Spurs suffer another injury after player was forced off the pitch early this weekend

Following a knock to Ryan Sessegnon during an Under-21 game against West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur has now suffered another injury to its full-back position.

Sessegnon’s tenure at Tottenham has been marred by injuries left following injuries, preventing the young Englishman from ever having the chance to gain any traction before having to miss further time due to injury.

Even though Spurs are already 30 games into the 2023–24 season, the former Fulham defender has yet hardly touched a ball under Ange Postecoglou.

Sessegnon, who has just recovered from his most recent issue, was included in Tottenham’s U21 starting lineup for their Saturday match against West Ham, along with players like Dane Scarlett and Jamie Donley.

But he was out of commission in thirty-five minutes due to injury. After playing the ball into the penalty area, Sessegnon beat his man and gathered up the ball wide on the left, looking to pull up quickly (SpursPLAY – 35 minutes).

Following the incident, Sessegnon remained on the ground and got medical assistance. Eventually, he stood up and left the pitch to be replaced by Jahziah Linton. The pundit referred to it as “heartbreaking news.”

I’m really sorry about Ryan Sessegnon. His life and profession are football, yet he never seems to get lucky when it comes to injuries. He will never have the opportunity to crack the Spurs starting lineup, in my opinion. He could be able to revive his career by moving abroad to a less competitive league.

I’m very angry’ – Tottenham star thinks he should have scored a hat-trick against Wolves

Despite scoring Tottenham’s lone goal in their 2-1 loss to Wolves in the Premier League this weekend, Dejan Kulusevski expressed frustration with his finishing.

At the beginning of the second half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Swede scored a crucial goal for the Lilywhites by dancing through the area and putting the ball between Jose Sa’s legs to tie the score.

But despite their best efforts for the next twenty minutes, the Spurs were unable to overcome the resolute Wolves defending, lost the game 2-1, and were also hit on the break.

With such a low block, Tottenham did not have many opportunities throughout the game, but Kuleġevski did see a few gaps to increase his tally.

Dejan Kulusevski was angry with himself against Wolves

In his post-match interview with SpursPLAY, the winger expressed his frustration at not being able to convert as Tottenham fell out of the Premier League top four for the second time in a row.

“Yes, it’s difficult [to break teams apart],” he declared. We made an effort in the first half, but we were unsuccessful. Talent typically comes into play there. In my opinion, you have to do something exceptional, and exceptional teams are born out of confidence. It will therefore become more natural when you do something well, so you only need to keep trying.

“I’m really sad and angry because I had two very close opportunities to score, but that’s life. It was a good moment [for the goal], but that’s life.”

It is generally necessary to be clinical in front of goal in those types of low block games. Spurs must figure out a method to regularly produce chances of their own, even when their opponents have 11 men behind the ball, because the manner they play will sadly always result in them giving up chances on the break.
