Oliver Glasner will soon be named Crystal Palace’s new manager ahead of their match against Everton at Goodison Park on Monday.HITC is aware that Oliver Glasner has now reached a deal with Crystal Palace to assume leadership of the Eagles.

Following the hospitalisation of current manager Roy Hodgson on Thursday, Palace completed the acquisition of former bosses of Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, Glasner.y.

After becoming ill, Hodgson is stable and receiving tests in the hospital, according to Palace.

Prior to this incident, Palace had already made the decision to replace Hodgson, and as we previously mentioned, co-owner John Textor was a primary force behind Glasner’s appointment.

As far as HITC is aware, the announcement of the Glasner agreement will occur before to Monday’s match at Everton.

Who is Oliver Glasner?

During his playing career, Glasner played defence and amassed over 500 appearances before becoming as a hero for Austrian team SV Ried.

Thus, it came as no big surprise when Glasner became the manager of SV Ried in 2014; nevertheless, that position was only available after he worked as Red Bull Salzburg’s assistant manager under Roger Schmidt.

After taking LASK to the Europa League and even the Champions League qualifying round, Glasner’s euphoric comeback lasted only a year.

After taking a keen interest in Glasner’s work, Wolfsburg enticed him to Germany in 2019. There, he won 47% of his games before departing in 2021 due to a falling out with sporting director Jorg Schmadtke.

Wolfsburg was forced to observe as Glasner joined Eintracht Frankfurt, a Bundesliga opponent, right away.

Before defeating Rangers in the championship game on penalties, Glasner stunned Xavi with his relentless style of play after defeating Barcelona en route.

Even though Glasner’s season last year was a little more difficult, he still managed to finish in seventh place before opting to quit the team in the summer.

While still keeping Hodgson’s welfare in mind, Glasner made an impression in Germany, and Palace supporters will be thrilled to have him join the team.

The Austrian has previously drawn interest from the Premier League and was considered by Tottenham as an Antonio Conte successor.

The position ultimately went to Ange Postecoglou, but Glasner’s work in the Bundesliga has obviously made an impression.

Following Tottenham’s decision to take a different course, Palace is now prepared to gain from Glasner’s arrival in London.

The opportunity for Glasner to quickly demonstrate to Spurs what they are lacking comes on March 2nd when Palace takes on Tottenham.
