‘Definitely’: Leeds United still keen to tie down player that annoyed Daniel Farke this week –

Despite the fact that there hasn’t been any discussion of a new contract since the transfer window, Willy Gnonto scored twice on Tuesday to bring his season total to five goals, four of which have come since the start of the campaign.

Leeds has benefited greatly from the 20-year-old. Along with Junior Firpo, Patrick Bamford, and Ilia Gruev, a handful of periphery players that joined the team in January have almost been brand-new additions.

In the January window, Fabrizio Romano stated that Gnonto’s new contract was almost finalised. This occurs after Giovanni declined to play in August of last year, but under Daniel Farke, he has managed to earn a spot back in the team.

A contract had been agreed upon in principle, according to Graeme Bailey of Leeds United News. However, nothing has surfaced since those claims in January—possibly because Leeds has been playing a lot of games lately.

Hay was asked about Gnonto receiving a new deal during her appearance on the most recent edition of The Square Ball. He claims Leeds is still determined to offer the Italian player a new deal and is working to make that happen.

It was the window’s rear end. Leeds really does want to tie him down since they felt like they were getting close with it. He had a great goal at Bristol City and the window was closed.

Phil Hay says Leeds still want to tie up Willy Gnonto contract

Even though Gnonto had a brace, the Italian did frustrate Farke during the week by wasting opportunities and scoring two excellent goals. Though Leeds could have easily scored six if they had been more persistent, they only managed four.

Leeds’ approach suggests that Gnonto is willing to sign a contract, even though it is unclear what he wants to do about a new deal. Elland Road will host a summer 2027 contract expiration for him.

Leeds United shareholder makes humorous Kylian Mbappe transfer plea after huge transfer bombshell

The news that Kylian Mbappe is expected to leave PSG for free in the summer has shocked Leeds United shareholder and NBA player Larry Nance Jr., who joked that he would be joining the team at Elland Road.

After the 49ers acquired the team in the summer window, displacing Andrea Radrizzani and company, the Whites are now in a far stronger long-term position.

Outside parties have also contributed a substantial amount of money to the 49ers Enterprises, including several well-known American athletes, supporting Leeds’ aggressive player acquisition plan.
