After Summerville’s two goals gave Leeds the victory at Elland Road, the former striker for Crystal Palace revealed that he thinks the player is finally demonstrating his full potential at this level.

The Dutchman’s running style with the ball is unique in today’s game and something Andrew hasn’t seen from any player in a long time, the player said. Andrew could not be more complimentary of the player.

Andrew gushed, “Like I said, I’ve watched a lot of tape on him,” during a live interview on BBC Radio Leeds on February 10, 2016 [16:23]. He had genuine flashes of his ability during the Premier League season last year.

“Stepping down a level couldn’t have been any better for him to come down and improve his game and show everyone what he’s capable of doing.

“He’s too good for Championship level, let’s be completely honest. Just even the way he moves with the ball, I haven’t seen a player like that for a long time.

“He glides with the ball with real speed and just seems to go past people with ease. You even see players trying to foul him and they’re not even able to do that. That’s a rarity.”

Leeds United could struggle to keep Summerville

If Leeds are unsuccessful in their quest to advance from the Championship, they may have a tough time holding onto Summerville this summer given the amount of interest shown in his signature by Premier League teams.

Leeds will still be under pressure to keep him at Elland Road despite performances like his today, where he demonstrated once again how much of a class above many Championship sides, adding to his 14 goals and seven assists in the league so far this season.
