Leeds United

Farke must sub off woeful Leeds player at HT v Plymouth he looks. Find out reasons

The winner of the midweek matchup will go to the Premier League to face either Chelsea or Aston Villa in a fifth-round matchup.

For the match, Farke made some significant substitutions, starting Mateo Joseph in his second Leeds start ever in addition to starting Piroe and Jaidon Anthony in a drastically altered assault.

At Home Park, both sides had opportunities to grab the lead. Matoe Joseph and Piroe for the away squad each struck the crossbar twice.

Plymouth had their own opportunities, and Leeds United were grateful to Sam Byram for a last-ditch block that denied Callum Wright the chance to turn in a cross at the back post.

Piroe lacking inspiration yet again

The Englishman’s outstanding goal-scoring ability isn’t the only reason Patrick Bamford has been Farke’s go-to player at Elland Road in recent weeks.

The Elland Road summer signing Piroe has only scored once in his last ten games, which is partly a result of his lacklustre performance while wearing a Whites shirt.

The former Swansea City player is one of the Championship’s deadliest forwards, but he has thus far appeared to have fallen off a cliff, as evidenced by his performance against Plymouth.

The 24-year-old finished the first half of Leeds United’s match against Plymouth with the joint-worst score of any player, according to SofaScore. He won only one of his four duels overall and failed to execute any of his dribbling attempts.

The Dutchman wasted several of his final-third passes and was really unfortunate to hit the crossbar following a fantastic attempt from outside the box.

With Bamford and Georginio Rutter who have been absolutely flawless in recent weeks for Farke, waiting in the wings for the second half, Farke must quickly drag off Piroe who’s been rather woeful yet again
