Sky Sports man slams ‘poor’ Crysencio Summerville moment v Bristol City

Crysencio Summerville, the Dutch star who helped Leeds United defeat Bristol City 1-0 at Ashton Gate on Friday, February 2, with a goal from Wilfried Gnonto in the second half, came under fire from Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe for his “poor” performance in the first half of the match. Summerville, who returned to the team after missing the FA Cup draw with Plymouth Argyle the previous time around, also missed a fantastic opportunity after a mistake by George Tanner.

Co-commentator Hinchcliffe observed, “So fortunate to escape there under no real pressure, George Tanner,” during Sky Sports’ live broadcast of the game.

He laboured on the ball, which is the issue; as a team, Leeds will press you, so you can’t afford to do that against them.

“I’m not suggesting that Summerville made the incorrect decision because he sees the keeper well off his line and believes he can dink it over him, but he doesn’t get beneath the ball sufficiently, and the result is a subpar finish.

He had the option to circumvent the goalie. He simply executed it incorrectly, but it was definitely the appropriate choice to dump him.

Crysencio Summerville moment doesn’t cost Leeds United

Summerville, who plays off the left flank and has scored 12 Championship goals this season, is a dangerous player, so you could put your entire savings on him to score after taking Tanner’s place and going one-on-one.

Unfortunately, knowing that he had blown a fantastic chance to put the Whites ahead in a game that had not yet heated up, he dinked it right into the arms of the appreciative home goalie and buried his head in his hands.

In the Championship match, Leeds United defeated Bristol City, but Crysencio Summerville lost a fantastic opportunity.

Wilfried Gnonto, who was given a rare league start, scored a wonderfully well-taken goal to get Daniel Farke’s team going on a night when Leeds really lacked their shooting boots.

With the three points, Leeds unexpectedly moves up to the top two for the first time this season, which will put pressure on Southampton and Ipswich Town ahead of their respective matches on Saturday (3 February) against Rotherham United and Preston North End.
