Blow for Spurs: Midfielder ruled out of crucial FA Cup clash against Manchester City

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is set to miss the game against Manchester City.

He suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Burnley, which forced him to miss the game against Manchester United.

The severity of his injury was uncertain, and O. Keefe recently reported that Lo Celso’s injury remains a mystery.

And now a football correspondent for the Evening Standard has claimed that the Argentine international is targeting a return for next week against Brentford.

He is close to returning but will miss the FA Cup game against Manchester City.

The report explains that Spurs are taking a ‘cautious approach with Lo Celso’, who has stepped up his game during Maddison’ absence.

This absence poses a challenge for Tottenham, already struggling with limited midfield options, given Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr’s unavailability due to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The good news for Spurs is that Rodrigo Bentancur is back to his best form and was even on the scoresheet against Manchester Unitedadditiona.

Tottenham Hotspur might not be done shopping for new players this month; according to a recent rumour, the North London team is reportedly in talks to add two more players during the January transfer window.

Since Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin joined the team early in the month, Spurs supporters have had a rather good winter window.

Will Spurs sign two more players this month?

Now, reports at Football Insider indicate that Spurs are likely to sign Nusa and a new midfield player before the transfer window closes.

It seems that Tottenham is now “confident of agreeing” to make the two acquisitions this month. Even if there is still “work to be done” to move the negotiations along, the team is now “closing in” on the transfer of Nusa.

According to reports, the Lilywhites are “working hard” to sign a new midfield player as well. The article claims that Spurs have made improving at that position their top priority right now.

Spurs Web Opinion

We will have had an amazing transfer window this month if we can add Antonio Nusa and improve our midfield options. This will put us one step closer to having the kind of squad Ange Postecoglou needed to compete at the highest levels.
