Manager confirms club ‘are working’ on a deal to sign Tottenham man

Football Insider revealed on Thursday that Leeds had already begun negotiations with Spurs regarding the Welshman’s signing. The source went on to say that the Championship team is aware that they may have intense competition for the defender if they hold out until the summer.

According to the source, there is increasing interest in the former Swansea player and he might command up to £20 million at the end of the current campaign.

Farke confirms Leeds United are working on Joe Rodon deal

Now that Rodon is a Leeds player, Farke has acknowledged that there is work being done behind the scenes. The German coach has expressed his satisfaction with Rodon’s performances thus far this season.

In response to a question concerning the team’s purported pursuit of the Tottenham player, he stated (via TEAMtalk): “We are working behind the scenes. Without a doubt, Joe makes us more than pleased.

You can tell how much wearing this white shirt means to him as he grows more and more into a leader role in this group. He simply enjoys being her. He is really important. We couldn’t be happier.

“He will stay with us until the end of the season, but we would like him to stay a little bit longer. Right now, it is not an urgent topic.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is rare for managers to talk about negotiations publicly but Farke is perhaps doing it in the knowledge that other clubs cannot enter the race for Rodon right now given that he is set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Leeds.

It sounds like the 47-year-old is also quite sure that the Wales international wants to remain at Elland Road beyond this season.
