League top-two make approaches to sign Leeds forward, loan deal mooted – report
Paris Saint-Germain hold talks this week to sign Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente
According to Santi Aouna, negotiations over a transfer have taken place, and Paris Saint-Germain is still interested in signing Leeds’ Diego Llorente.
On January 19, the dependable French journalist claims on his personal Twitter account that the Ligue 1 champions have given the signing of rookie Lenny Yoro top priority, but they are still finalizing a deal.
Since both sides are willing to work toward completing a transaction before the deadline, negotiations were actually undertaken this week to terminate his loan from Elland Road to Roma and transfer him to Paris.
“Notwithstanding the denials, the Diego Llorente file remains unopened,” he stated.
“To attempt to advance the file, those close to Campos met this week.”
It is meaningless.
Llorente made it quite evident that he didn’t want to be here, and the only reason we offered him a new contract was to safeguard his transfer value.
The best thing for everyone is for him to be somewhere else because neither of us wants him here. However, they must make the necessary payments if he decides to leave Roma and join PSG.
Roma and Leeds already have an agreement in place regarding wages, as well as a sum of money that may be agreed upon for a future permanent transfer.
In particular, if Roma are open to it and don’t mind his leaving as it wouldn’t damage relations for any future agreements between the teams, then there’s no reason to stop that trade from happening if PSG meet the terms currently in place, which they should have no problem with given their wealth.
In unrelated Leeds news, Roy Keane and Gary Neville anticipate “revenge” in the Leeds vs. Preston match.
