Specifically, the team needs to address the absence of true depth at left and right back before the deadline passes.

Josh Doig amongst Leeds’ left-back targets

For Scottish left-back Josh Doig, it has been a hectic month. There have been renewed rumors of Elland Road connections as well as rumors of Doig leaving Hellas Verona in the new year.

Leeds, Rangers, and Marseille were reportedly among the teams interested in signing the 21-year-old defender, according to L’Equipe. The French team was leading the negotiations until they broke down since a deadline had passed on the subject.

Although the left-back, who was born in Edinburgh, was on Leeds’ shortlist, it now appears that he is staying in Italy.

It is now being reported by Sky Sports Italy (via Hellas1903) that Doig’s transfer to Sassuolo across Serie A is “completed.”

According to claims, the payment is around €6 million (£5.14 million), and Hellas is also entitled to a 10% sell-on clause for any upcoming sales.

This evening should see an official statement regarding the relocation of the Leeds targets.
