‘I’m not tempted’: Daniel Farke insists 21-year-old will stay at Leeds United despite reports he could leave

According to Daniel Farke, he is hesitant to let go of any more Leeds United players this month.

Though it’s safe to say he wasn’t in the first team picture, Darko Gyabi became the third player to finalise his Elland Road exit earlier this afternoon when he signed a season-long loan with Plymouth Argyle.

Djed Spence and Luke Ayling are the two senior players Leeds has let go since the transfer market opened; the former had his Tottenham loan revoked, while the latter joined Middlesbrough.

Charlie Cresswell seems like the most likely candidate to get a move into Leeds’ starting lineup, especially in light of what Farke stated about him at his news conference earlier today.

Joe Gelhardt, an attacker who has also struggled for playing time this season with Cresswell, is receiving a different treatment from Farke. He claims that even though things might change for him, he does not want Gelhardt to go.

Farke hoping to keep Gelhardt

“Joffy [Gelhardt] is a proper part of our [main] group and has participated in multiple games,” he stated. I’m not tempted to give away many more gamers right now. That was the choice we made with Djed Spence.

“Our goal is to essentially maintain the group. We’re not tempted to part with players. Perhaps by the end of January, things will be different.

This month, Gelhardt is drawing a lot of interest from other teams. Several Championship teams, as well as the Old Firm teams Celtic and Rangers, are interested in signing him on loan.

Leeds, on the other hand, lacks options at number 10, Gelhardt’s preferred position, but with connections to David Brooks, the Whites may be able to bolster that lineup.

As Farke hinted, if a player does sign, Gelhardt might then receive the approval required to go out on loan. In the end, he needs game time given his age.

In related news:

Leeds United will try to sign a new full-back in the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Whites have already lost a full-back this month, with Luke Ayling joining Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season.

Jacobs added that there is growing interest in star winger Crysencio Summerville, who Leeds want to keep at Elland Road.

Jacobs posted, “I have good news,” in a Q&A on X. Leeds should target a full-back, in my opinion. Connor Roberts and Chris Mepham are both potential candidates.

Additionally, they wish to cling onto Crysencio Summerville. Growing interest, but Leeds has been quite happy with his approach over the summer.

fresh inclusions?

Last summer, there was a lot of movement at Elland Road in both directions, and Leeds was very busy during the transfer window.

After being relegated from the Premier League, the Whites lost a number of key players, as many first-team players were unwilling to play in the Championship because of the decline in competition.

However, Daniel Farke, who took over as manager, did a fantastic job of replacing them, bringing players to Elland Road like Joel Piroe and Ethan Ampadu.

But now that the Whites are aiming for an early return to the Premier League, the man in the dugout may try to expand his choices even more this month.

Leeds, with 48 points from 26 games played so far this season, is presently ranked fourth in the Championship table. They have been playing well.

However, the campaign is lengthy, and Farke might have to bring in new players this month to keep the Whites’ momentum going as they pursue Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City.
