Journalist Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports has disclosed that Radu Dragusin will be joining Tottenham this morning after an agreement was made with Genoa.

It hasn’t been simple for Spurs to sign the Romanian international, despite their best efforts over the past week. But it appears that the agreement has been reached, and he will shortly be travelling to Tottenham.

 

Tottenham reach full agreement to sign Radu Dragusin

Finding a new centre back has always been Tottenham’s top objective throughout this transfer season.

Other than Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in centre defence, Spurs don’t really have a player that Ange Postecoglou believes in. Though they have performed admirably, Ben Davies and Emerson Royal don’t seem entirely at ease in that role.

It was always important to find a new center-half, and we found out last week that Tottenham is most interested in Radu Dragusin. Spurs even had Genoa reject an offer for the Romanian player.

Plettenberg claims that Tottenham has now finalised the sale for £21.5 million, despite more talks.

The correspondent with Sky Sports tweeted:

“Excl. News #Dragusin: Tottenham and Genua have reached a full agreement about a transfer in winter this morning! #THFC

“Transfer fee: €25m (£21.5m) + add-ons. Contract until 2029.

“If Bayern wants to have a chance, they must react today. There’s still no official offer from Bayern.”

Timo Werner, who would be a fantastic fit in Postecoglou’s system, is about to join the North Londoners on loan from RB Leipzig, which is fascinating in and of itself.

Spurs appear to have taken care of their most pressing need at this point: a new centre back. Radu Dragusin appears to be a gifted young man who is currently in route to North London.

Spurs supporters have every reason to be thrilled about this significant news as the second half of the season approaches.
