‘I’m told’: Leeds now want ‘fantastic’ Premier League centre-back – journalist

This month, Leeds United has been linked to several Wales players. Daniel Farke’s team currently has three of Rob Page’s players, and Chris Mepham of Bournemouth is the next target.

Currently residing at Elland Road are Dan James, Ethan Ampadu, and Joe Rodon; the latter is a player Leeds will be eager to sign permanently despite being on loan. Leeds is anticipated to have a busy January window.
That’s according to Alex Crook of TalkSPORT, who says that hearing Daniel Farke suggest that the Whites might not be all that busy surprised him. He says that on GMS, he has been informed that there would be activity.

Additionally, Leeds has a strong interest in Wales defender Mepham, who was dropped from Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth team this season. A player Scott Parker called “fantastic” has only made two League starts.

Mepham will be aiming to play in some games in the second part of the season, wherever that may be, as Euro 2024 approaches. Leeds is fond of the Bournemouth player, according to Crooks, this month.

The manager expressed satisfaction with his team, therefore he claimed they won’t be making any changes during this window, which makes things fascinating. However, I’ve been informed by others that they will genuinely have high expectations.

“Chris Mepham of Bournemouth is another person I believe they admire, and you mentioned David Brooks.” After sending Djed Spence back, one would have assumed they had a full-back on the roster, Crook said to GMS.

Leeds want to sign Bournemouth and Wales star Chris Mepham

It comes as no surprise that Leeds has been connected to more players given that they already have three Wales stars on their roster. However, Mepham’s acquisition brings the total number of possible Welsh signings in the January transfer window to five.

Kieffer Moore and David Brooks, who are teammates at Bournemouth, have been connected. Neco Williams of Forest and Connor Roberts of Burnley are also available; Williams was a target back in the summer. Is a Mepham move likely?

For now? Likely not. Charlie Cresswell, Liam Cooper, Rodon, and Pascal Struijk are all from Leeds. Should we sign Mepham, Rodon’s Wales teammate, even if Cresswell leaves, as he has been linked to doing? Very unlikely
