First January signing a done deal: Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed Tottenham’s first January signing is done

‘Here we go’:…Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham’s first January signing

Timo Werner, a former striker for Chelsea, is set to join Tottenham Hotspur, as confirmed this evening by Fabrizio Romano.

As Ange Postecoglou attempts to bolster his team in January, word leaked out this morning that Werner was a player Tottenham was pressing to sign.

Reports about the status of the agreement, including whether or not it will become permanent and whether Tottenham will pay salaries, have been released throughout the day.

The attacker, who was getting ready to board a flight to England, was also left out of the RB Leipzig roster today.

And it looks like everything is arranged and prepared now.

Romano confirms Timo Werner to Tottenham

Fabrizio Romano, who recently took to X, verified the agreement in a post with his well-known “here we go.”

Werner will want to hit the ground running

This signing definitely came out of the blue, and the fact that it has been kept under wraps is commendable for players like Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy.

Timo Werner needs to enter the game now and leave a lasting impression. It’s time for him to put the past behind him and prove why the Blues spent so much money on him in the first place.

Given that Brennan Johnson hasn’t been scoring goals and that Heung-Min Son is out due to the Asia Cup, Werner has a great opportunity to improve the Spurs team.

He will benefit from a quick start, and you can bet that Postecoglou will be putting his arm around the German player from the beginning in an effort to extract the maximum performance from him.

Werner’s speed and experience might be a significant asset for Spurs in the second half of the season if he can really get off to a strong start.
