‘What a signing’ – Journalist reacts as Farke eyes ‘£40m player’ to rejoin Leeds squad

Daniel Farke is reportedly “assessing” a return for Leeds United’s Brenden Aaronson, who is expected to be “sensational” in the Championship, according to Graeme Bailey.

The American is “unhappy” at Union Berlin, according to the HITC journalist, and an early termination of his loan in the Bundesliga is “being looked at,” One Leeds Fan Channel reported on January 4.

And Farke is considered to be the ideal fit for the attacking midfield player after the Premier League team struggled under a string of managers the previous campaign.

Rose-tinted

Based on his playing style, Aaronson seems like a guy who could emulate Georginio Rutter by going from struggling in the premier league to excelling in the second division.

But given that the 23-year-old’s physicality in the Premier League was a problem for him the previous season and has been brought up once more during his struggles in Germany, the Championship doesn’t seem like the best place for him to get back on track.

Should Farke be intrigued by the notion, Aaronson may be perceived by him as an inexpensive means of filling the void at number ten in his team, and maybe he would be the one to bring out the best in the USMNT international, something that Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia, and Sam Allardyce were unable to accomplish.

However, since the fans probably wouldn’t give him much of a second chance, he would have to perform right away if he returned this month.

His attempt to pretend to be dishonest after his nearly £25,000 move from Red Bull Salzburg [Sky Sports] and before he joined the unpopular loan exodus after relegation didn’t go down so well.

It won’t take much to refute the unfair belief that he isn’t the man for the battle if that move has made him unhappy and he now wishes to return.

However, there was a good reason the Whites pursued him for six months and paid a large sum of money for him, and it would be extremely beneficial if he could blossom under Farke in the Championship.

Though crazier things have transpired along Elland Road, this would be an unexpected turn of events.
