Leeds United’s newest famous fan reacts to Prime Minister statement

steadfast following an exciting 7-4 match against young wonder Luke Littler, Leeds United supporter Luke Humphries was declared the winner of the PDC World Darts Championship on Wednesday night.

The Warrington native Littler, who is the youngest player to ever make it to the world final, has won over a lot of fans with his electrifying performance on stage. However, Humphries had the support of Elland Road prior to winning his first world title, even if the 16-year-old had captured the hearts of Alexandra Palace.

Earlier in the season, the newly crowned world champion visited the ground and had his first encounter with Daniel Farke. Known as ‘Cool Hand’ when he was manning the oche, Humphries was pleasantly delighted to find that the Leeds manager and his son are avid darts players. Farke even requested a picture of the two of them during his Elland Road visit.

Humphries acknowledged that it was a “surreal moment,” and Farke emphasised that Leeds would “sort out” whatever requirements he might have from the team. In addition to wishing the 28-year-old success in the final, the official club Twitter account also praised his victory after the thrilling match.

“Keep January 3rd in mind! Thank you for winning the @OfficialPDC World Championship, @lukeh180!” Leeds made a post.

With 3.75 million viewers that night, the Humphries vs. Littler final became Sky Sports’ biggest non-football audience for a single event. Following his victory, Cool Hand Luke received accolades from all throughout the nation, including from 10 Downing Street.

On Twitter, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Humphries. The newly crowned world champion replied by thanking everyone who had supported his journey thus far. But Humphries removed his post soon after it was published.

“I’m grateful to @RishiSunak for the opportunity to participate in the competition and take home the World Championship. The champion first wrote, “It is difficult to put into words how I feel right now, but it is a truly amazing feeling that I shall never forget and the unbelievable support I have received will stay with me forever.”

‘He’s a problem’: Leeds now being linked with signing an attacker Joe Rodon hates playing against

Although Kieffer Moore has been linked to a move to Elland Road, Leeds United certainly didn’t need to reinforce at striker in the January transfer window. Joe Rodon is a fan of Moore.

With his impressive 6 feet 5 inches, it’s clear what the 31-year-old Moore can provide a club. He is a very potent no. 9 at this level because of his aerial prowess and ability to command play from two centre defenders.

He has, in fact, participated in 155 Championship games and assisted on 61 goals. He has 14 assists to go along with his 47 points. However, having Moore at the top also encourages his offensive colleagues to perform at their highest level.

Having played alongside Moore for Wales, players such as Aaron Ramsey, Dan James, Gareth Bale, and other Welsh attackers can attest to that. According to reports, Leeds wants to sign the £40,000-per-week player.

In a 2021 speech, which Wales Online cited, Ronan expressed admiration for target man Moore. Given his physicality and the ball at his feet, he claimed it is challenging to play against the Bournemouth great.

“He’s a great guy, and we have a lot of great guys.” As you’ve seen, he poses a difficulty because of his physical presence. Excellent addition to the team. To be honest, I don’t like that [marking him in training].

“He’s a big boy with a lot of physical presence, but people are also often surprised by what he can do with his feet.” Regarding Moore, Rodon remarked, “We’re really thrilled to have him here as an impact player for the team.

With each new window, the Welsh link keeps expanding. Rodon and Ethan Ampadu joined James in the summer.Neco Williams was the object of the previous window.David Brooks was connected to an additional loan.

At Elland Road, there is a Welsh Mafia resembling the one that was present at Tottenham when Rodon was accompanied by Gareth Bale and Ben Davies. Moore can sing well, but Leeds doesn’t require a forward.
