Max Wöber, a defender on loan from Leeds United, is the subject of “extensive negotiations” between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Leeds United because there is no buy option in his contract.

Gladbach Live, who discuss the current state of affairs and the need for the two clubs to collaborate in order to reach a permanent relocation deal, reports that.

 

After Leeds was relegated from the Premier League, Wöber took advantage of the opportunity to join Gladbach on loan in the summer.

This season, he has been a regular for the German team, and they are eager to sign him permanently, even if it was first reported early last month that Gladbach would need to extend their budget to make the signing happen.
Then, Wöber acknowledged that he was locked between the two clubs for the time being and was waiting to see what would happen.

Gladbach Live then elaborate, saying that the practical response was necessary because Leeds and their German counterparts “have not agreed a purchase option” for the player at this time.

They need to return to the negotiation table in order for him to move in the summer because it was not completed when they signed the loan agreement in the summer. Those “intense discussions” are still in progress.

Given that he is on loan until the summer anyhow, it doesn’t seem urgent, but it’s still something to watch.
