Star’s form for Leeds could ‘spark’ interest from other clubs

The 22-year-old has already made 16 G/A contributions in the second division, demonstrating his effectiveness as Leeds’ attacker.
However, given the Dutch winger’s recent success, there are rumours that Premier League teams may make a move for him in January.
Summerville target for Premier League sides in January
According to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, teams are reportedly keeping an eye on Summerville again, with Bournemouth, Burnley, and Everton among them. The journalist continued by saying that while other Premier League teams were keeping an eye on him, they had not yet expressed interest.
It comes amid rumours over Summerville’s future. Jones himself revealed last week that he expects the former Feyenoord player to be offered a significant opportunity in the Premier League, either in the January transfer window or at the end of the current campaign.

Jones expressed his admiration for the attacker’s performances when questioned about the Summerville situation once more. He even made a suggestion that the attacker would be a contender for the Championship player of the season award. The transfer insider did, however, acknowledge that Leeds may have a difficult time holding onto him when the transfer market opens next month because of the increased interest that would undoubtedly result from his excellent play.

Summerville has chance to kick start Leeds’ promotion campaign
As things stand, Leeds are currently 10 points outside of the top two in the Championship, despite the best efforts of Summerville and company. Leeds lost to Coventry City at Elland Road this weekend, missing the opportunity to close the gap after second-place Ipswich also dropped points.
Though Ipswich’s visit to Elland Road this weekend gives Leeds the opportunity to regain some gap on the automatic positions, it might not matter too much. Essentially, Leeds needs to win to maintain their ambitions of placing in the top two in what looks to be one of the Championship games of the year.
If they are successful, the difference will be just seven points going into Christmas, or a swing of three games. Before the new year, United has further Championship matches. On Boxing Day, they play Preston North End, and on December 29, they travel to West Bromwich Albion.
Birmingham City will visit Leeds on New Year’s Eve at Elland Road, and in the FA Cup third round, Leeds will host Peterborough United. But holding onto Summerville may be essential if Leeds are to succeed this season in any way.
