Fresh boost in Leeds United promotion bid expected and change amid new Ipswich Town challenge

Daniel Farke’s team is anticipated to benefit much more.

Leeds United’s push for automatic promotion is anticipated to gain momentum as they face a new obstacle in the form of crucial rivals Ipswich Town.

After defeating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 on Saturday, Daniel Farke’s third-placed Whites are expected by bookmakers to secure another three points from their trip to Sunderland on Tuesday night.

The Black Cats are ranked fifth in the Championship table, but Leeds is the clear favourite to defeat a team that can be backed at 13-5 on home ground with a few firms and no more than 21-20.

Leeds is in charge of the first seven players in the first goalscorer market, which is led by Joel Piroe at 11-2, while the draw is available at 13-5. Despite taking home 19 of a possible 21 points, Leeds is still seven points off of the division’s automatic promotion spots after the weekend’s victories by the top three teams in the standings.

However, the bookies think that when second-place Ipswich Town visits tenth-place Watford in the middle of the week, they might run into trouble. Ipswich is the slight favourite at 7-5 against a 2-1 Watford team in Tuesday night’s match at Vicarage Road. The draw is open from 12 to 5.

Those in charge With Leicester City playing on Wednesday night, Leeds would undoubtedly cut the deficit to only five points if they defeated Sunderland. However, the bookmakers are optimistic that Leicester will triumph once more in midweek when they host Millwall on Wednesday night, who are 8-1 favourites to win at the King Power. Millwall is now in sixth place. Leicester is well favoured (4-11), while the draw has a 4-1 advantage. The same night, Coventry City welcomes Southampton, who are currently three points behind Leeds in fourth place. When playing the Sky Blues, who are rated 9-5, the Saints are the slight favourites at 31-20. It’s a 5-2 draw.
