Tottenham’s medical team have been urging £22m player to be cautious as he comes back from injury

After suffering an injury at Tottenham Hotspur, Rodrigo Bentancur has been so keen to get back that staff have occasionally had to calm him down.

This is in line with a story from football.london, which described how Tottenham has been managing Bentancur’s injury extremely cautiously.

Under Ange Postecoglou, the midfielder, who signed for £22 million in 2022, is currently being reintroduced to the first squad and is experiencing football for the first time.

And Bentacur’s recuperation might come at a very good time, despite the peculiar circumstances.

Tottenham has lost a lot of players in the previous week or so, and supporters may be closely monitoring Bentancur while he is away with Uruguay during the break.

Postecoglou and his Tottenham team will undoubtedly be hoping that Bentancur’s injury can be managed with the same caution while he is overseas representing his nation.

The team led by Marcelo Bielsa will probably need the services of their star player in their two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Argentina over the break.

There might have been considerable pressure to start Bentancur even though Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg started the late loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Tottenham’s medical team have been extremely careful with Bentancur’s injury return

Even if Bentancur isn’t a naturally gifted playmaker, he would provide a profile that can partially take James Maddison’s place.

Even though Giovani Lo Celso is capable of playing in a similar position, Postecoglou just does not have another Maddison on his team.

Jamie Donley’s entry into the first team fold may therefore be Postecoglou’s finest strategy.

Over the past year or so, the young player has developed crucial experience as a playmaker and might be a fun option.

Postecoglou and his staff will undoubtedly have a lot to think about during the break.

And considering how important Bentancur may be in the run-up to January, everyone at Tottenham will be hoping he returns from his international assignment unscathed.

The Uruguayan may prove to be invaluable once more as Spurs prepare for some extremely difficult games.
