Tottenham handed late selection boost ahead of Wolves as Ange Postecoglou backs star
James Maddison, the midfielder, may be sidelined until the New Year due to a severe ankle injury, while Richarlison is recuperating from a minor groin operation.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, claims he has more than enough to sustain the team even after losing five players to Chelsea.
After recovering from an injury, Eric Dier, who hasn’t played much against Chelsea, and Ben Davies, who has hardly started, are expected to start.
Postecoglou continues, “The main reason everyone has been working with the team is because there are a few players who, if given the opportunity, would have the possibility to register their performance in the manager’s mind.”
He spoke to reporters prior to the game this afternoon: “Look, we need to use Bentancur with a little caution; it’s not just about Gio; it’s about Bryan Gil as well. This is for him, Skippy, Eric Dier, and all of these people.”
“They have been working out a lot because of this. They have been a part of the group and have trained with us.
“We have completed all of our tasks collaboratively. They’ve put in a lot of effort, and for everyone of them, the goal is to be ready for when the chance arises.
“It’s safe to say that for some of them, the time has come. They have been prepared for this since the first day, therefore it is now up to them to seize the chance.”
For the first time since a run of three home league victories between 1964 and 1968, Wolves are looking to defeat Spurs twice in a row. Spurs had the best start to a top-flight season since 1961, but they were defeated by Chelsea in that iconic Monday night encounter.

While selecting his starting lineup for Saturday’s match against Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has a lot to consider.
Postecoglou’s team lost four players for their next game when Spurs and Chelsea engaged in a wild Premier League battle on Monday.
Ricky van de Ven and James Maddison sustained injuries that the Tottenham manager acknowledged would probably keep them out till the new year.
In the meantime, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off, meaning they would not be able to play in the early kickoff of the day against Molineux.
Following months on the sidelines due to an ACL injury he sustained in February, the Uruguay international is now back in action.
After been gradually added to the lineup over the last few games, Bentancur will be hoping to play against Wolves.
The 26-year-old might be used at No. 10 from the start or as a replacement, with Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma solidifying their positions in midfield.

With both his club and his country, Bentancur has played in such role before. With three appearances as No. 10, he did in fact assist Uruguay in getting to the 2018 World Cup quarterfinals.
Throughout the tournament, his most significant contribution was his assist for Edinson Cavani’s second goal in the 2-1 Round of 16 triumph over Portugal.
The Spurs star is definitely deserving of a shout if he was excellent enough to lead his club to the final eight and was judged worthy of passing the ball to Cavani and Luis Suarez.
It’s true that Postecoglou won’t likely take a chance on Bentancur right away given that Lo Celso, a proven No. 10, and Dejan Kulusevski, who has also played in that position extensively, are ahead of him.
Bentancur, meanwhile, is yet another “excellent” option available to the Spurs manager.
Maybe he won’t only be a reserve, and eventually he might be vying for a starting position at 6, 8, or even 10.
