Contract rebel Ben Johnson wants West Ham to triple his wages to staggering amount and will now be sold claims board confidant

Since The Athletic disclosed that the academy graduate had turned down a six-and-a-half-year contract at the club, negotiations have been off the table.

Given his lack of success, several West Ham fans found it hard to accept that the team was willing to hand Johnson such a long-term contract. And the fact that he did not sign it confused them much more.

Johnson wants to continue on £60k per week, according to Whetstone, despite only receiving £20k per week according to Spotrac right now.

The demands are being called “extraordinary,” and Whetstone has stated that, “assuming there are any takers,” he will probably be sold in January.

“Hammer Ben Johnson, who is currently out of favor, has made his contract demands known. His agents are requesting £60,000 a week in exchange for the player signing a new contract at West Ham”

Johnson and his agents feel the club should give in to their extreme expectations, even though he has only played one first team game this season, against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup third round.
