‘Exceptional phenonmenon’ – Pundit reacts as Leeds scout player ahead of potential January transfer

Palmer revealed to Football League World that “many clubs in the Championship are running the rule over AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi ahead of the January transfer window.”

“You can promote some players from the lower leagues, but not all of them can.”

Leeds is among the teams watching Ali closely. Although I don’t think Leeds will be looking for Ali to step in and score goals to get them promoted, they will be considering his age and development and whether they can develop him into a true asset and one for the future. Ali is currently playing in League Two.

Although it’s always a risk, many players have taken this risk in the past and gone on to perform remarkably well at a higher level.

Not really worth the risk

Leeds appears to have an ample supply of strikers and does not appear to require the addition of one in January.

This season, Georginio Rutter has been the team’s outstanding line leader. However, Joel Piroe can fill in for him.

The Dutchman has often played there, but ever since moving to Elland Road, he has been quite successful in a number 10 role.

Because of Junior Firpo’s injury history and poor play since joining the team from Barcelona, Leeds is probably going to concentrate on signing a left-back if they make any moves in January.

Even though Sam Byram has been ok, Farke will be aware that there are undoubtedly better possibilities available.

Due to the necessity of adding players who would bolster their starting eleven, it appears highly unlikely that signing a striker who is currently playing in League Two will be the top priority in January.

Sources: Leeds would accept ‘right’ Wilfried Gnonto offer

If the appropriate deal comes in, Leeds United is willing to let Wilfried Gnonto leave the team in January, insider sources have revealed.

As the new year draws near, Giovanni, 20, is not satisfied with his circumstances at Elland Road, according to a report published by Football Insider on Monday, November 6.

The Italy international played just one minute in Leeds’ victory over Leicester last week (3 November) and has only started one of the team’s last four Championship games.

The Whites are thought to be willing to let the attacker go in January, but only if their high expectations are satisfied.

Daniel Farke’s team has made it clear that returning to the Premier League is their first objective, and they are ready to hold their ground if that price is not fulfilled.

Gnonto was a target for Everton throughout the summer transfer window, and the Italy international went on a short strike to try to get a move.

Although he was eventually added back to the team, he has only made a few appearances for Leeds in the 2023–24 season.

In ten appearances this season across all competitions, the forward has only managed one goal and one assist.

Due to an ankle injury, Gnonto was forced to miss four games and Italy’s vital qualifiers against England and Malta.

In the event that the defending champions qualify, the former Zurich star is eager to keep his spot in the Azzurri squad for the European Championships in Germany the following year.

Leeds

Having only joined for the team in the Premier League the previous year (2022), his contract at Elland Road expires in June 2027.

Leeds, now ranked third in the Championship, will play Plymouth on Saturday, November 11.
