‘BIG NAME IN THE MAKING’: TOTTENHAM SCOUTS MAY HAVE UNEARTHED A REAL GEM AFTER £200,000 TRANSFER

After visiting Scotland on a scouting expedition, it is thought that Tottenham Hotspur is pursuing Aberdeen defender Slobodan Rubezic.

It is believed that Tottenham Hotspur has taken notice of Aberdeen center back Slobodan Rubezic.

The suggestion made by The Sun is that Tottenham has been instructed to scout in Scotland by Ange Postecoglou.

With his two years as Celtic’s manager, Postecoglou already had a respectable understanding of the Scottish game.

But, the Australian wants Tottenham to stay current with the quality found north of the line, and there’s one new player in the equation.

Tottenham Hotspur attracted to Aberdeen defender Rubezic

According to The Sun, Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield seen Slobodan Rubezic, an Aberdeen center defender, in action.

Even though Rubezic has only been with Aberdeen for a few months, he is making waves.

With Postecoglou searching for more defensive options, Tottenham now seems eager to find them.

Though he hasn’t played a major role in the plans, Eric Dier has forged a strong partnership with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

That means there’s a chance for another signing, since Rubezic is now being considered before 2024.

Who is Tottenham target Slobodan Rubezic?

Born in Serbia, Rubezic played for both Cukaricki and Vojvodina in their youth divisions.

After that, Rubezic went on to Arda Kardzhali in Bulgaria and then returned to Serbia with Novi Pazar.

During the summer, Aberdeen moved quickly to sign Rubezic, offering him a mere £200,000 to entice him to Pittodrie.

Although Rubezic, a massive 6′ 4″ defender, doesn’t currently appear to be a typical Postecoglou defender, he is still only 23 years old and may grow.

Rubezic’s Dons colleague Stefan Gartenmann said to The Press and Journal that the defender has “everything to be a top defender,” indicating that he has high expectations for the young player.

If Rubezic keeps improving, Gartenmann continues, “big things are ahead for him” and calls him a “big name in the making.”

It was in October when Rubezic made his debut for Montenegro after recently switching allegiances on the international front.

Spurs are probably going to keep an eye on Rubezic going forward because they may have uncovered a possible gem.
