Blow for Spurs ahead of Chelsea game – Paul O Keefe says first team starter could miss out with injury

Destiny Udogie, a left back for Tottenham, will not be available for the match against Chelsea, according to Paul O’Keefe.

Udogie sustained an injury while playing Fulham. In the 55th minute, he was replaced due to discomfort he was feeling from tight muscles.

Despite not being thought to be seriously injured, Udogie was expected to be available for the match against Chelsea, therefore he was kept out of the game against Crystal Palace.

The most recent information about the 20-year-old’s injury was disclosed by Paul O. Keefe, though.

According to him, it has more to do with ankle ligaments than just tight muscles, and it often takes two weeks to heal.

Having just played for eight days, Udogie will miss the match at Chelsea.

It seems very likely that Ange won’t be participating, even if he stated it would be a 50-50 game for the Italian.

He shared on X:

“Told Destiny Udogie’s injury problem is ankle ligaments. He’s 8 days in, at best it’s normally 2 weeks recovery for minor issues. Monday in the balance obviously. Ange stated 50-50”

Emerson Royal will probably start at left-back against Chelsea while Ben Davies is also sidelined due to an injury.

Prior to Porro’s arrival, Emerson Royal was Spurs’ first-choice right-back for a considerable amount of time.

Although his offensive capabilities are not particularly impressive, Chelsea could benefit from his defensive prowess to counter the quickness of Chelsea’s wings.

That being said, Ange Postecoglou would miss Udogie terribly.
